| Our Minor League division is offered to children who are league ages 9-10 in the fall, and children who are league ages 9-11 in the spring (age as of April 30 of that school year). This will be your child's first introduction to "kid pitch" baseball. This league is still developmental in nature, but more competitive than the previous leagues. Here, we still use a continuous batting order, but a baseball defense of only 10 players is used (4 outfielders). Kids are doing the pitching and batters will strike out on the third strike. In the spring, those 11 year olds who do not make the majors will remain in the minor league for additional season to have the opportunity to develop their skills even further. 11 year olds are allowed to play any position on the field. We also reserve the right to move a child up or down once the season has begun if their skill level becomes a safety concern for themselves and the other children in the league. Tega Cay Parks and Recreation will provide participants with hat, jersey and socks. Families are responsible for pants, cleats and glove. |
