Baseball Programs
Tiny Tees
Our Tiny Tees baseball league is offered every spring to children who are league age 4 years old (age as of
April 30 of the spring year).  This program is a great way to introduce your child to the game of baseball.
The tiny tees meet every Saturday morning during the season for 75 minutes.  The first 30 minutes are
spent teach a new skill.  We start with the basics (what hand to put your glove on, how to grip the
baseball, etc) and build each week.  At the conclusion of the clinic portion of the day, the teams will play a
game.  They will bat all the way through their roster and then switch to defense.  The season will
typically last for 5-7 weeks.  The following fall, they will have the opportunity to move into our Advanced
T-ball league.
Advanced T-ball
Our Advanced T-ball league is offered both spring and fall to children who are league ages 5 and 6 (age as
of April 30 of th
at school year).  This program is the next step in your child's progression in the game of
baseball.  The Advanced T-ball will practice one evening per week and then have games on Saturday
mornings.  Games and practices last for one hour.  More skill development is taught at this level, building
off of what they learned in the Tiny Tees division.  This is the first stage in which we introduce a pitched
ball to the batter.  During a game, a batter will have an opportunity to hit one of three (3) pitches their
coach will pitch to them.  If they do not hit one of those pitches, then we put the ball on a tee and let
them swing away.  Just like the Tiny Tees, the advanced t-ballers will bat all the through their roster and
the switch to defense.  The season will typically last for 6-8 weeks.  This division will help prepare your
child to move successfully into our Coaches' Pitch League.
Coaches' Pitch
Our Coaches' Pitch League is offered in both the spring and fall to children who are league ages 7-8 (age
as of April 30 of th
at school year).  This is more competitive than the advanced t-ball, but the focus is
still very much on skill progression and fundamentals.  The Coaches' Pitch teams generally practice twice a
week until the season begins, and then begin practicing only once per week.  A coaches' pitch team will play
two games per week (usually once on a weeknight and once on a Saturday morning) for 7-9 weeks.  The
Coaches' Pitch league is very similar to the Advanced T-ball league with the following exceptions: 1) the
bases are set at 60' instead of 50', 2) the coach is throwing from a further distance, 3) batters will still
receive up to five (5) pitches, but if they don't hit the fifth pitch they will strike out, 4) teams will use a
continuous batting order, but once three outs are made, the teams will switch offense and defense.  All
children in our baseball program are required to have successfully completed at least one season of
Coaches' Pitch before moving on the Minor Leagues.
Minor League
Our Minor League division is offered to children who are league ages 9-10 in the fall, and children who are
league ages 9-12 in the spring (age as of April 30 of th
at school year).  This will be your child's first
introduction to "kid pitch" baseball.  This league is still developmental in nature, but more competitive than
the previous leagues.  Here, we still use a continuous batting order, but a baseball defense of only 10
players is used (4 outfielders).  Kids are doing the pitching and batters will strike out on the third strike.
In the spring, those 11 year olds who do not make the majors will remain in the minor league for
additional season to have the opportunity to develop their skills even further.  11 year olds are allowed to
play any position on the field.  We also reserve the right to move a child up or down once the season has
begun if their skill level becomes a safety concern for themselves and the other children in the league.
Major League
Our Major League division is offered in the fall to children who are league ages 11-12, and in the spring to
children who are league ages 10-12.  This is a big step up from the minor league program.  Some children
may never play in the majors, and will play in the minor leagues until they are league age 13.  In the
Major Leagues, your child will face much faster pitching, as well as, bigger and better hitters than what
they experienced in the Minor Leagues.  While we are still very much centered around skill development,
we are also beginning to teach newer things as well.  Games are usually at a faster pace than what they
were in the minor leagues, and only 9 defensive players are used.  Teams will still use a continuous batting
order in an effort to make sure everyone gets as much playing time as possible.
Baseball Programs
Our coaches attend at least one coaches clinic per season, which makes them NYSCA certified.  Anyone
interested in coaching or
sponsoring in our youth baseball program should contact Joey Blethen.  We will
provide all the training and equipment you will need in order to be a successful baseball coach.  Also, we
are always in need of additional umpires for our games.  Due to large increases in registration each
season, we have more games that need to be officiated.  We provide training, a jersey, and compensation
to all of our officials.  Please contact the
Joey Blethen for more information regarding coaching and/ or
officiating.
