U8
Our U8 division of soccer is offered every spring and fall to children who are league ages 6 and 7 (based on their age as of August 1 of that school year). While still an introductory level of soccer, we begin building on what they learned while playing in the Kickers division. In the U8 group, children are still divided onto coed teams with small roster sizes and practice one night per week for an hour. In this age group, they play on a slightly larger field and with one extra player. This is the first time we introduce the goalie position onto the field. Now team are play with 6 "field" players and a goalie. Like in our Kickers age group, they typically play on Saturday mornings and the coaches are on the field during the game instead of using referees. This way, if an infraction occurs, the coaches can explain to the player what he/she did incorrectly and they can learn as they play.
U10
Our U10 league is offered ever spring and fall to children who are league ages 8 and 9 (based on their age as of August 1 of that school year). Games in this age group, while still recreational, have a little higher level of competition than the previous two age divisions. In our U10 age groups we begin dividing the players on the boys and girls teams. There is an all boys league and an all girls league. Here they begin competing against teams from outside of Tega Cay (usually the Ft. Mill area/ Leroy Springs Recreation Complex). The roster sizes are a little larger than what we have in the younger divisions, and the teams practice twice a week for an hour. Games are played here in Tega Cay, as well as at the Leroy Springs Complex. Typically games are on Saturday mornings, with a few games scattered throughout the season on weeknights. In this age group, we add one more "field" player to the games and play 8 v. 8 on a 70 yd x 40 yd field. We also introduce referees to the field of play at this age group.
U13
Our U13 league is offered ever spring and fall to children who are league ages 10, 11 and 12 (based on their age as of August 1 of that school year). This age group is very similar to the U10 age group. Here teams are still divided into boys and girls teams/ leagues. Teams typically practice two nights per week for an hour each session with game primarily on Saturdays. The games continue to grow in competition as the children get older. In this age group, they begin playing halves instead of quarters. They also play 9 v. 9 and play on a 100 yd x 60 yd field. Conditioning and continued skill development are the main focus points in this age group.
U16
The U16 league is offered every spring and fall to children who are league ages 13, 14 and 15 (based on their age as of August 1 of that school year). This age group is exactly like our U16 age division. They practice two nights per week for an hour each session with games primarily on Saturdays. They play on the same size field as the U13 division and are still separated onto boys and girls teams. Again, as the children get older with each age group, the competition level increases.
U18
Our U18 league is offered every spring and fall to young men and women who are league ages 16, 17 or still high school (based on their age as of August 1 of that school year). Due to many kids this age either gaining interest in other activities or playing high school soccer, we combine the players back onto coed teams. They still practice two nights a week for an hour each session, with games primarily being on weekdays. This age group does play more week night games than the other age groups as many of the participants have weekend jobs. In this age group, we will also play against teams from Fort Mill, as well as, Clover.
Due largely to our partnership with the Carolina Select Soccer Club, recreational soccer in Tega Cay has grown immensely over the past couple of years. We offer quality soccer programs for participants ages 3-17. We have some of the best recreational coaches in the area due to several training sessions conducted by licensed, professional coach throughout each season. Our coaches attend at least one coaches clinic per season, which makes them NYSCA certified. Anyone interested in coaching or sponsoring in our youth soccer program should contact Joey Blethen. We will provide all the training and equipment you will need in order to be a successful soccer coach. Also, we are always in need of additional referees for our games. Due to large increases in registration each season, we have more games that need to be officiated. We provide training, a jersey, and compensation to all of our officials. Please contact the Joey Blethen for more information regarding coaching and/ or officiating.

Our U6 Kickers divison is offered every spring and fall to children who are league ages 4 and 5 (age as of August 1 of that school year). This program is a great way to build on what they learned in the rookie program. Children participating in Kickers will learn the basic fundamentals of soccer (dribbling, kicking and passing), while also learning game play. The Kickers will meet twice a week. Practices will be conducted by the Carolina Select staff every other week while your team's coach will hold the other practice. Practices will be held during the week with games being played on Saturday morning. The season will typically last for 8 weeks. The coaches will be on the field during all of the games to instruct the kids.
Our Rookie division is offered every spring and fall to children who are league age 3 and 4 years (age as of August 1 of that school year). This program is a great way to introduce your child to the game of soccer. The rookies will meet every Monday or Wednesday evening during the season for 65 minutes. They will receive special instruction from Carolina Select coaches. The first 15 minutes are spent teaching a new skill (dribbling, shooting, passing). At the conclusion of the clinic portion of the day, the teams will play a game. The following fall, they will have the opportunity to move into our U6 Kickers division.
